The crowning touch
Fleur de Sel is the top layer of sea salt gathered in July and August from the coast of Brittany in northwest France. Its delicate taste and moist texture are best suited to using as a finishing salt rather than a cooking salt; the delicate flavor is often lost in baking or roasting. It's absolutely divine sprinkled on fresh garden tomatoes and other veggie dishes right before serving. Or try mixing a small quantity into some unsalted French butter and spread on a fresh baguette. Because this is a natural, rather than refined, salt, there are many minerals present, including potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper and iodine. As an extra-special touch, do as the French do and use it as a surprising counterpoint to sweet dishes such as sprinkled on caramel, or in a chocolate-caramel-sea salt cake (featured in Baked: New Frontiers in Baking).

Camargue Salt
This is a very fine salty salt - strong, toothsome, and delicious. Don't use it for cooking - that's a waste - use it a a 'finishing' salt - sprinkle over your food just before eating (and remember to reduce the salt used in cooking) - I particularly love it on freshly cut tomatoes. This is a luxury item for me, and I wouldn't be without it!

A Great Taste of France
I just got back from being in Paris for a delicious month and was turned on to Fleur de Sel de Camargue by Ina Garten in her book "Barefoot in Paris", which I took with me, and it changed the way I cook and how I experience the process and the end result. I found this product abundant at La Grande Epicerie de Paris at 38 rue de Sevres, where every thing can be found in abundance!! I brought back a dozen containers! Who knew I would be able to get it on Amazon!! Thank you Ina and thank you Amazon!!!

fleur de sel
This is an intensely flavorful sea salt that enhances the flavor of whatever it is added to. It is best to sprinkle this product on your food that has been prepared. I am thrilled to be able to get it locally because I buy it by the trunkfull when I am visiting Paris. Thanks for saving me a trip!!!!!

I love this salt
I found this salt at local high-end grocery stores and loved it. It is the best finishing salt I have found, and I've tried many.
Then the local stores stopped carrying it - so I found it on Amazon, ordered five containers. It was cheaper on Amazon than the local stores.
I gave it to foodie friends as a holiday gift - and they loved me for it!!
The order was delivered when specified, in great condition - everything I expected.
